This client stands out among other clients, not only by his towering stature as an elegant northern European gentleman, but also by his unfailing passion to a design element of our furniture - the fine giant arm braces, the arc shaped wooden member joining the top of the legs of a table to the underside of the top.
Unless we go back to our record, we already have no idea the number of tables we made for him having this feature from the early 2000s. These tables are now scattered in his homes across Sweden, London and possibly some other countries. Shown in the photos below are a set we recently made for his London home.
Examples abound of how a functional feature of an object would become the centre of admiration, defining even the character of the whole piece. It is good exercise to observe deep into the world around us.

除非我们翻查记录，否则我们已经没印象从 2000 年代头开始我们一共替他制造了多少配备这特征的大大小小台。这些台现时分布于他在瑞典，伦敦，还有其他欧洲国家的家里。这里照片展示的是近期我们替他伦敦新屋所造的最新一批。
一个功能性的特征可以变为鉴赏焦点，例子实在随手可得；这特征甚至可以成为整个物品的灵魂。试试观察我们身边类似的例子，撒是有趣。

The following crafting progress photos show how the tables take shape slowly. They are laid out in a consecutive sequence from the beginning. It can be observed how the finish is developed through endless cycles. The tables in the darkest shade below are in fact only at the beginning of the patching (wood pores filling) step. The dark coloured surface is only the dried up patch, it will be thoroughly sanded down, then patched and sanded again for a few times before the tables receive their staining and then the final lacquering steps.
Two videos show clearly how the tables are scrapped smooth surface to surface by a sharp stainless steel blade right after the woodworking stage.

从以下照片可以隐约领会到家具怎样经众多工序成型，照片的次序跟工序次序一样。也可察看家具的涂漆是无数反复工作才制作完毕。其中一张照片显示条桌的抽屉放在台面，那哑黑色的表面只是用来封闭木材孔眼的漆灰变干后的效果。这时只是涂漆工序的开端，那灰需要给完全磨掉，并重新批灰打磨起码几次，才可把木材表面处理平滑。跟着才开始上色，最后才是多重上漆磨光的工序。
两个短片可以看到公丈用锋利的不锈钢片把家具的不同平面与边角反复刮磨。要把木工制作好的家具变得柔顺这工序异常重要。
