Acting as a cosy atelier, it facilitates collaboration with clients on bespoke projects, as well as the research and development of new furniture design features.

来让我门介绍明堂家具现于上环文咸西街上的迷你展廊。刚好位处著名中外的海味干货批发区域的中心。这其实更像一个工作坊，便利我们做开发并跟客户协作时会面的宁静空间。

Experimental and crafting work is performed on no other but our elegant table TA 45. This one is crafted out of very rare Burmese Chicken Wing wood, making it possibly one of the most precious working tables in the world. Modern Ming style cabinet CA 82 comes in handy as a hidden library for all the furniture design and materials reference books. Also shown is the solid burl wood topped stool SL 2. Placed on the floor is our old store sign in Chinese characters, used from year 2000.

测试与手作是在最适合不过的 TA 45 书台上进行。这样品是用现时已在市场上绝迹的珍贵缅甸鸡翅木所造的。所以这可能是世界上其中一张最稀有的工作台了。在旁的现代明式柜 CA 82 把所有的设计与家具参考书籍整洁收纳其中。还看到的是影木座板的古凳 SL 2. 放在角落的是我们从 2000 年使用至今的中文名招牌。

Only in looking close at the wood frame details of display cabinet CA 45 does one recognise the hidden beauty of our signature lacquered fine finish. The concave moulding and concave edges on two sides of a wooden member has a fine smoothness achieved through thorough finishing. With reflecting light they amplify the sculpted character of the surfaces. When the viewing angle is changed they may vary from the look of opaque black lacquer to transparent dark brown lacquer enabling a full show of the wood grains underneath.

只有靠近观察木方细微处才看领略展示柜 CA 45 的精细涂漆若隐若现的奥妙之处。每一个木方的微弯表面与两旁边线都经过无数的涂漆工序才达到丝滑的效果。经反照的光泽更能显现其立体感。当改变欣赏角度，柜子好像从一件黑漆家具变为一件能清晰看到木材木纹的清漆家具。

Table TA 1120E started its journey as a design for personal use, when we found nothing in the market that fits our need for a small side table. The functions come first in our design considerations, but aesthetics just fall in place neatly. It proved to be an extremely versatile table.

The cross legged bench LT 38 looks impeccably modern, but its gene and blood is Chinese - as is revealed in its structural design. The open pored and ebonized natural finish is chosen for its subdued air of presence.

Our furniture is original, each piece is uniquely hand made, more so when unorthodox materials are specially chosen. Shown below are photos showing how we work with our hands at the atelier on vegetable tanned leather as well as shagreen. This brings personal touch to a whole new level.
