To call this client a furniture connoisseur or aficionado is an understatement.
For the pair of compound cabinets in the dining space, the elegant gourd carving was based on a computer generated model he created using a professional graphics design program. He also single handedly designed the dining table. What makes it most striking is that he is not in the creative industry, but finance.
The dining table shown in the on site photo was the original one he asked another maker to craft for him before he knew about us, pairing it with their standard chairs. The crafting quality however was not quite up to his standard. Many years passed and he finally gathered enough determination to replace the whole set with ours. This time we use the same overall table design, but with our own cracked ice lattice interpretation and slight adjustment of details. The chairs are bespoke version from one of our standard designs, changed to accommodate the unique needs of the client.
The sideboard, wardrobe, AV cabinet and several sets of nested tables then take up different positions of his apartment. He also kindly entrusted us to design and coordinate for a new living space sofa set - one that is similar but more elegant to his old set, and provide hidden storage space.

称我们这个客人为家具鉴赏家或爱好者确实是严重不足。
放在他饭厅的一对复合柜（或称四件柜）是我们为他特别制造的，但底柜底部的牙板雕刻图案却是客户自己用专业图形设计软件描画出来的。照片上显示的餐台也是他独自一人设计的。让人更惊讶的是他并不从事创意工业，而是财经分析。
那餐台是客户认识我们之前委托另一公司替他制造的，选配的是那公司的标准款色。但不幸造工质量远远达不到客户的要求。多年过去，客户终于作出决定，委托我们用他的设计制造全新的餐台套装。这次我们稍微改动了一些细部，并且使用了我们自己的冰裂纹花板图案。而椅子是基于我们的标准中式设计，但却特别改造，配以优良承托的坐垫来提高舒适度。
此外，客户从我们公司配置的餐柜，衣柜，影音电视柜，与几套层叠台就分布家里不同角落。他也委托我们重新设计并统筹客厅的全新套装沙发。整体布局跟原本的类似，但用上全新比较刘丽的设计，并且置有暗格来收纳孩子的玩具。

To slowly carve by hand a relief pictorial pattern is a mighty work in itself. This is made all the more difficult for a refined lacquer finish, which calls for the closing up of the wood pores by repeated cycles of patching, sanding and lacquering processes. These are all executed with extreme care, otherwise the details of the carving will be ruined.
Mass produced products achieve lacquer result over a carved surface quickly by thick coat of chemical lacquer, but it never achieves the warmth and hand feel in a fine finish.

公丈徒手慢慢把木材雕出一个浮雕图案已经不容易。更困难的是需要用上精细的涂漆效果，因为众多变化多端的微小表面都需要经过多重的刮磨，木材气孔填充，打磨，上漆等的工序。所有都需要细心慢作，因为一不小心就会把浮雕破坏。
大规模的工业化生产也可能有经涂漆的浮雕效果，但使用的都是厚厚的化学漆油，让木材表面完全给封闭掉。所以一定不能达到精细的手工温暖真实感觉。
