Peninsula Hong Kong approached us in late 2000s to design two pieces of furniture for their hotel's major refurbishment project. One is a guest room side table equipped with a sliding panel, the other is a stand for the corridors. The styles were adopted from our standard collections. However, what makes them unique are the details. For the table, we aimed to create a sliding mechanism that is smooth, and results in the minimal sagging of the panel when pulled out. For the stand, the usual top wooden panel is replaced with a special type of white marble that is off white and has higher crystalline grain structure.

The two pieces of furniture was accepted in their mock up reviews on the concept and quality, as expected. At the end we decided it makes best business sense not to bid for the final rollout, hence the items being ussed in the hotel now are crafted by some other makers based on the footsteps we laid down.

香港半岛酒店

香港半岛酒店在 2000 年代后期委托我们为酒店的大翻新项目设计两件家具。一件是客房内的方形台，需要配备可拉开的隐蔽工作板。另一件是用在楼层走廊的花几。都是以我们标准的家具款色作为设计蓝本。特别是他门独有的细节。对于那方台，我们的设计重点是让拉动顺滑，并且尽开时要减少木板下坠的幅度。至于那花几，一般顶部的实木板就换上结晶颗粒比较明显的一种偏白色云石。

这两件家具酒店验收后如所料不需要修改就达到样板的质量与细部要求。但最终我们选择放弃投标这项目，这样最可保护我们公司的利益。所以现时酒店在使用这两个款色的家具是他门另找公司参考我们的家具而制造的。
